Should I draw My fellow opponauts cars for $$? I am untrained and am only in my first semester of art school. would people buy it? would people want drawings of their car? If you want one they'd be worth $110 in materials and labor but for all opposite lock users the price is $55 indefinetly.

Examples of my work:

How much time does something like that take you?

Yes all day. Although if you want to do them for free that's fine too...especially for my wallet...lol. But I can see how this would be a good way to make a little extra cash

The one reason I would want to paint or draw again is to depict my car or others I like. You have a talent for this. Might as well make some money doing it. Do you only draw?

20 hours, thats why I'm unsure, becuase if I account for time in the cost it may be cost prohibitive for some people, but if enough people want it I could sell them for more reasonable price

Do it. I have friends that play an old school computer RPG. It doesn't even have modern multiplayer. Somebody I know still makes a decent bit of money drawing their characters in her spare time. Check out this time calculator to give you some idea of how you value your time, though obviously you have to go with what the market will bear.

Do it the web 2.0 way. Draw ones that interest you and the owner wants and then leave it open for a no pressure PayPal donation or something. Some will pay more than its worth, realistically some will pay nothing but give you free press...

Theoretically it would probably work out the best.

And when your done, post them to Redbubble!

50 bucks for a 9x12 drawing framed. thats cheap, if you go to an art fair you could get a 5x7 print of an automotive artistic photograph that took seconds to take and mabye an hour in processing for that price

if you added color, and did highly collectible cars (like 60's mustangs, 57 chevys, etc..) you can sell them on eBay.

I'd model/render/animate people's cars for $$$ if I could get anything done in a reasonable amount of time. 2-3 months per car isn't reasonable, but with two jobs and school on the way, there's not much I can do to fix that. Alas.

No big deal on the drawing, my Oppo friend, I cannot afford to pay now, so you don't have to spend any time on it. Just thought you might want some practice.

no I called my porsche cheap not you it was an extremely good deal so I casually remarked that I got it for cheap and I've been spending more on it ever since essentially going way over budget. You're totally in the clear sorry for the misunderstanding my wording was a bit unclear. Also I happen to be a man and just refer to my car as female.

oh I don't care just thought I'd clarify. I was kinda trying to make a joke with that saying how you get what you pay for and the saying that a cheap woman always costs you the most in the end. That's a good idea though they're pretty tricky but I'd at least say worth it.

Heyo, I'm not sure what your process is, but as a fellow art schoolian, you might want to think about scanning them and then dropping out the background. In photoshop there is a "level" tool under image adjustments.

For example these started out as paper sketches, but you don't see the paper (so to speak).

Kinja'd!!!

Just trying to be helpful.

Kinja'd!!! Denver Is Stuck In The 90s > Milky

Nice work. I used to draw, eons ago. A few of my favorites...the Diablo was from an old Pirelli poster. The McLaren was actually done with a calligraphy pen/ink. These are all, geez, 20+ years old. I never went to art school, or was formally trained or anything. I just liked to draw. Primarily for my own benefit, but I also found that for most people, they really enjoyed them as gifts. I had a few people ask to buy some, and mostly ended up giving them away.
